Rhamnus Carbohydrate Derivatives

Rhamnose, a monosaccharide, is a derivative of Mannose with one hydroxyl group substituted by hydrogen at position 6, namely 6-deoxy-L-nenenebb mannose, also known as methylpentose. In nature, it is mostly L-type and widely exists in plant polysaccharides, glycosides, plant gums, and bacterial polysaccharides.
